Hints and Tips Required
Paul Beverley from Archive Magazine put out a plea on the Archive-online maillist for any RISC OS hint and tips you may have, which he wants to turn into a handy "Best Hints" booklet.Don't worry if you can't remember *where* you read it - or even whether it might even have been in another magazine! If you do know the Archive reference (e.g. 17.4 p32) so much the better, but if not, please don't worry. Please send your hint suggestion to: hints at archivemag.co.uk
Star Fighter 3000
Star Fighter 3000 is a futuristic aerial combat game for RISC OS machines that was originally published in 1994 by Fednet Software. It was recently sold by iSV Products (and subsequently APDL) on a games compilation CD-ROM entitled 'Other Worlds'. More recently, development has been maintained by Christopher Bazley, who has made a number of improvements and bug fixes to the original game.
Version 3.06 is now available from starfighter.acornarcade.com which fixes a number of bugs in the previous version, the full details of which are listed at starfighter.acornarcade.com/r2changes.html
Iyonix users can also download a suitable monitor definition file (MDF) here.
Sudoku > SudokuPro
Mijas Software have updated their Sudoku puzzle solver to become SudokuPro, which will now solve as well as generate the infamous Japanese number puzzle games.
Although freely downloadable from mijas.orpheusweb.co.uk, users are encouraged to register by sending a (say) 20 quid donation to Mijas, with monies going to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
